The Azores is the birthplace of anticyclones, with moderately hot and humid days. The climate is temperate, with average air temperatures ranging between 14ºC and 22ºC. Average seawater temperatures vary between 15ºC in winter and 22ºC in summer. The calm and clear waters of the sea and the abundance of fish species, provide a good underwater game and recreational fishing, as well as a dive to enjoy the beauty of a true underwater sanctuary worldwide from an environmental point of view. The observation of cetaceans in its natural environment is another attraction of the Azores Sea, being the island of Pico one of the best places in the world to observe them. Imposing volcanoes, caves, algares, mountains and lagoons are ingredients that enhance a detailed visit to the island of Pico, which is the youngest of the archipelago at 40,000 years. From volcanic stone man built walls forming a reticent (corrals) that impresses by its perfection and grandeur. The Landscape of The Culture of the Pico Island Vineyard has been included in the list of goods classified by UNESCO as world heritage sites. The pico mountain climb, the highest in Portugal with 2351 meters, is an unforgettable adventure. The mountain is a recent volcano, with fumolas at its highest point. To reach the summit is to contemplate a unique view of all the islands of the central group of the archipelago.
